Troop 600 is known for their annual Food Drive for the Salvation Army. During the month of November, our Boy Scouts with the help of Cub Scout Pack 925 distrubute over 7000 fliers to every home within the City of Tonawanda limits. Working for the last 32 years, our Troop has now collected over 175,000 pounds of non perishable food for the local food pantry at the Salvation Army.

Great American Clean-up
Everyone wants to live, work, and play in a clean and green community ........ and it’s up to everyone to make it possible and improve the overall quality of life for us all. Troop 600 joined other New Yorkers across the state – and Americans across the nation – for the Great American Cleanup. The troop helped by picking up liter on rainy Saturday at the local tennis courts and community park. Since the inception of this event in 2004, over 1.2 million volunteers have pick up 61 million pounds of litter and waste, 106,000 miles of road have been cleaned, and 76,000 trees, bulbs, and flowers have been planted across the nation.

Wal-mart Hot Dog Sale
Troop 600 conduted a hot dog sale a local super Wal-Mart to help the scouts fnd raise for summer camp. The sale was done over the weekend in June. The scouts packed up the trailer, otained Salen Brand Hot Dogs and had the station set up by 10:30 in the morning and sold hot dogs and drinks till 7:00. Saturday rained most of the day, but they sold over 600.Sunday was the nicer day and they sold 350. Special thank you goes to the Wal-Mart employees as they kept up the tradition of supporting local scouting troops.

Flag Day, June 14, 2012
Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by the resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1977. Troop 600 help properly dispose over 100 flags during this annual event help at the 32nd degree Masonic Center located in Cheektowaga, NY

Canal Fest
In celebration of the Erie Canal, the Tonawandas have an annual festival.
Our Troop has a roast beef stand to help the scouts with all of their camping needs. Troop 600's roast beef stand is the only original concession stand on the Tonawanda side of the Erie Canal.
Fellowship Weekend
Yearly our troop attends fellowship weekend at Don Miller Park sponsored by Red Jacket.
During the morning session, the troop helps with the cleaning and repairs of differnet areas within the camp. The afternoon session has demostrations including the firing of a cannon.
